Human Error: Your team could be your biggest asset or biggest vulnerability. 95% of cybersecurity breaches are due to human error. Human error is unintentional actions by employees and users.
- Don’t send or enter personal information into any form that is emailed or texted to you. Personal information includes, but is not limited to SSN, Account Number, PW (any non-public information).
- You may receive a phone call where the individual claims to be with a financial institution, government agency, insurance company, etc, and asks you to verify personal information. A legitimate agency will never call and ask for this information by phone. Never share personal information by phone.
- Never share your passwords or personal codes with anyone. This can provide them access to your online accounts allowing them to infiltrate your personal finances.
